Having a professional-looking product images can set an ecommerce site apart and help drive sales. Luckily, this can be easily accomplished using Adobe Photoshop.
In this video tutorial, I will show you how to quickly add a professional flare to product images using Adobe Photoshop CS4.
First, I will show you how to set up your canvas and import product images. With your product images properly placed on the canvas, I will show you how to quickly duplicate and transform them to act as a reflection. With the reflection image in place, I will then show you how to finish the reflection by adding a layer mask and changing the layer opacity.
With the product image placed and reflected, I will show you how to quickly add in a reflective environment for your product. I will also show you that the reflection is independent of the color of the environment and will react the same way on both a black and white surface.
After successfully completing the first product reflection, I will also show you how to create the same effect on an object with two planes. I will use the example of a box and show you how to isolate each side before repeating the original steps for creating a product reflection.
By the end of this tutorial you should have a better understanding of how to create a stylish product image using Adobe Photoshop CS4.
