I've seen a lot of Mac OSX style docks out there. Some of them are very well made, and some not. Perhaps the popularity of the dock is a testament to its versatility and user-friendly interface that Apple's operating system exhibits.
In this first of a two-part video tutorial, I'll set up the foundation for the dock. I'll create two custom classes: one for the items displayed in the dock and one for the dock itself. Then I'll dynamically load each icon and place it on the stage.
After you complete this tutorial, you'll be well on your way to creating one of the Internet's most popular effects in Adobe Flash.
