The U.S. unemployment rate rose to 9.9 percent in April 2010, implying, among other things, that finding work as a web developer is no easy task right now.
But there is some good news. Ecommerce, the industry you serve, is growing more quickly than some other segments. So even while there is a lot of unemployment, you still have opportunities. In fact, this is one reason that Ecommerce Developer has launched a free-to-post and free-to-use job board—so that you can easily find jobs or projects in your field.
Of course, our relatively new job board is not the only place you can look. In this post, I have put together a collection of sites you can search to find the job or project right for you. I will start with our job board, which I think is great.
Ecommerce Developer Job Board
As I mentioned above, our job board is free-to-post and free-to-use, so don't miss out.
Authentic Jobs
Authentic Jobs is an excellent site to find both freelance and full-time website design and development gigs. Authentic Jobs is free for job seekers, but job posters pay.
Smashing Jobs
Affiliated with the very popular Smashing Magazine, Smashing Jobs is a very active job board with both freelance and full time positions.
Mashable Jobs
With more emphasis on social media and management positions, Mashable Jobs is a great place to find full time jobs.
Freelance Switch
At Freelance Switch it is free to post jobs, but a paid membership is required to apply for jobs. The fee is $7 per month, but just one project will more than make up for that.
Tech Jobs from 37signals
Tech Jobs resides on the 37signals site and takes advantage of that relationship. A recent search for "ecommerce" on this site turned up 106 listings.
