I'd never suggest changing the cursor just because you can, but with Flash you can.
Changing the user's cursor will, in a many cases, be an uncomfortable experience. However there are circumstances where it's ideal. All you have to do is mouse over your browser's address field to see what I mean.
In this tutorial, I'll show you how to turn the pointer cursor into a loading icon. I'll start of by making a clock icon and animate the hands in Adobe Flash. Then we'll create a custom Cursor class that will hide the standard cursor with our animated clock.
