January can be a pretty political month in the U.S., with new members of Congress headed to Washington, D.C.; new laws becoming enacted; and the start of a new year in government. But even without taking political sides, it is possible to draw some design inspiration from what political sites are doing.
With Congress and certain new laws in the news, it might be no surprise to find oneself visiting a party or political action committee website. But what might be a surprise is how many of those sites have online stores selling partisan goods for profit. As an ecommerce developer or designer, I think we can get design ideas from just about anywhere; so for this showcase, I have collected examples from several political or issue-related websites—including some pundits and think tanks—that have some form of ecommerce.
It is important to note that these sites are in no particular order, but I would greatly appreciate it, if you would tell me which ones you liked best in the comments at the end of this showcase.
